precious little fictions in 500 words (or less).

Submission Guidelines

Quick Fiction accepts only online submissions. You can sign up for a free Writer’s Account and submit your work here. When you submit a story to Quick Fiction it will be considered for both the print journal and the web site. Stories should be no longer than 500 words. Please submit no more than three stories for consideration for any one issue of Quick Fiction, this roughly translates to a submission (of three stories) every six months.

What We’re Looking For

Quick Fiction publishes anything you could possibly imagine under 500 words (more or less). We don’t discriminate by any genre, style, or other arbitrary criteria (except approximate word count). As long as your submission is stunningly simple, handily baroque, or transcendently irreverent, or is otherwise brilliant, beautiful, and/or completely revolutionary, it should be an easy shoo-in.

Deadlines

The deadline for issue 18 is August 15, 2010.

Payment

If published in the print journal, authors receive two contributor copies of the issue their work appears in and a 20 percent discount on additional purchased copies.

Rights

Generally, Quick Fiction obtains First North American Serial and/or Electronic Rights. All rights revert back to the author 120 days after publication. If work has been previously published, please specify title, volume, issue, and/or date of the publication or web site where it originally appeared. Actual rights obtained are specific to individual agreements with each author.
